Movin' Shoes Employees Donate to L.I.F.E. PDF Print E-mail
April 22, 2008 - When Movin' Shoes employee Mike McLean's younger brother Eric relapsed with Acute Mygelogenous Leukemia this past Christmas Eve, he refounded L.I.F.E. - The Leukemia Ironman Fundraiser for Eric. So far it has brought in nearly $12,000 for both the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or if people choose, to help pay for Eric's medical expenses. When two other Movin' Shoes employees got word of the fundraiser, they stepped up to help out. Simon Bairu and Chris Solinsky, professional track athletes and former UW Madison students, donated a combined $2,000.00 to Eric for his medical expenses today. Both are 2008 Beijing Olympic hopefuls and will be competing in the Olympic Trials in just a couple of months. Their kindness and generosity will never be forgotten, and the McLean family will be cheering for them as they run for their dreams. Others also wishing to donate to L.I.F.E. or keep up to date on Eric's condition can visit http://www.Donate2LIFE.net.
