2014 Results

What a gorgeous night for a 5k! The 10th Annual Movin' Shoes Full Moon Run was a huge success!  It was awesome to see so many people, we have really built something special and you are all a big part of it.  Thank you so much to all of our volunteers for helping to make the run go as smoothly as possible, It is great to see everyone involved and helping with this unique event.  There were a total of 431 finishers, click here for a full list of results.  Joshua Lund won the men's race with a time of 15:27, and Ariel Heitzman took home the overall for the women with a time of 18:08.  Photos will be posted sometime today on the Movin' Shoes Facebook wall.

Meriter Running Clinic - Wednesday July 16th PDF Print E-mail
The racing season is in full swing now which is exactly when those nagging injuries tend to creep up. If you are experiencing pain or injury that is limiting your running or just have questions about your running form sign up now for an appointment at the Meriter– UnityPoint Health Sports Medicine Running clinic. You will meet one on one with one of our sports medicine therapists who will screen your flexibility, strength and running mechanics and help you establish a program to improve any limitations. In addition, we will have access to our video analysis system to help identify problem areas within your running mechanics.

A strong Cross Country team is built in the off season, and this high school summer training program is designed to keep you on pace for the best XC season of your life. Follow your own plan, or download their summer training guide PDF. You can log your miles, view the progress of other XC runners in the newsfeed, and unlock achievements along the way. Stick with the challenge through the whole summer and there are prizes you can win.

300 miles and you'll be entered to win a pair of Saucony shoes of your choice, 400 miles earns a Saucony short sleeve XC tee, and 500 miles you win a hoody plus a chance to win a custom pair of Carrera XC 500 Mile spikes.

The Movin' Shoes Marathon and Half-Marathon Training Clinic PDF Print E-mail
What: A training clinic designed to help you meet your fall marathon or half-marathon goals. Participants will receive an individual day by day training schedule, a weekly group run or meeting, strategies for injury prevention, nutrition, footwear, race planning /preparation and of course group support and camaraderie.

When: Thursdays from July 10 - Aug. 28. Group will meet at Movin' Shoes at 6:00pm.

What you need to bring: Your enthusiasm. Speed is not an issue - a training schedule will be individualized for you. People planning for a marathon should be comfortable running a minimum of 5 - 7 miles at a time. Half-marathoners should be comfortable running a minimum of 3 - 5 miles at a time.
Wisconsin Badgers win the 2014 Big Ten Track & Field Outdoor Championships PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations to the Wisconsin men's track team on winning the Big Ten outdoor championship today! This marks the 19th Big Ten track title the Badgers have won since 2000. Incredible!
